Hotel Baume, your home in Paris

The Baume is a comfortable, elegant hotel with interior design inspired by the 1930s and updated for the modern day, using the iconic elements of early 20th century décor such as exotic wood veneer, shagreen, satin and textured silk. Inspired by the story of six individuals, the rooms each have their own signature with rich, contrasting materials. The level of detail, the refinement and quality of each element reflect the modernism and positive energy of the period.

FASHION

Decorated with textured silk - a fabric cherished by 1930s fashion - and original sketches of clothes designs, these rooms combine an elegant selection of greys with gold and pink. Reminiscent of one of Paris’ haute couture fashion houses, the seating is upholstered, the lamps are inspired by ornate flapper headbands and mirrors with imitation feathers hark back to designs by Schiaparelli.

JEWELLERY

The theme is expressed with golden, undulating walls, a mirror that explodes with a thousand pearls and ribbon-adorned lampshades. The bedsides tables evoke rings or window displays full of ornate jewellery.

Cinema

In the beginning there were stars of the big screen in black and white, posed in groups of frames showing their profiles. Then colour was introduced with touches of beige, grey and pink. The wallpaper is reminiscent of rolls of celluloid, a mirror gets its inspiration from colour slides and the lamps imitate studio lights.

Architecture & Design

Art deco evolved and found new impetus in the USA. The walls have wallpaper that reminds one of the tip of the Chrysler Building, seating is covered in leather, the furniture and light fittings are from designs by famous names of the era and geometric patterns and straight lines can be seen in the curtains.

Club

In the 1930s, many a long evening was spent in lush clubs with their stitched fabrics and contrasting exotic wood. Blue, orange and camel brown reinvent a chic, masculine atmosphere, with photos and certain furniture details evoking the glory days of the clubs of Shanghai.
